Documenting the Athletics - From Philadelphia, to Kansas City, to Oakland and Finally to Fremont

Dana Eveland made a stunning debut Saturday for the A’s, giving up just one run in seven innings. Oakland gave up six hits during the entire game, compared the twelve they hit against Cleveland’s C.C. Sabathia.
The next day, however, Oakland couldn’t make the bats come alive. They picked up four hits and one run on the day. Cleveland, however, was able to squeeze out an extra run and win 2-1. Pitcher Joe Blanton kept it together for six solid innings, but things came undone in the seventh. Blanton gave up two singles and walked three batters, allowing two runs to score before being relieved by Casilla. Oakland couldn’t come back after that, and had zero hits in the bottom of the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings.
The team has solid pitcher Rich Harden starting on Tuesday. A solid Oakland offense will be needed to compete with the Blue Jays (4-2).
