Guillermo Moscoso Throws Seven Shutout Innings In A’s Win

by @ 11:47 pm. Filed under 2011 Athletics

The Athletics took care of the Mariners 2-0 behind a fantastic start by Guillermo Moscoso.  He threw seven shutout innings and he gave up just two hits and a walk with five strikeouts.  Andrew Bailey threw a shutout ninth and he picked up his eighth save of the season.

The A’s managed just five hits with Scott Sizemore playing a role in both runs.  He hit a solo home run in the first inning then he singled home Pennington in the fifth.

That puts the A’s at 39-49 and they’re still in last.  Still, I can see them passing up the Mariners at some point.  It’ll also be interesting to see what the A’s pull off at the trade deadline.
